Scout Report

Scout movement was started by Lord Baden-Powell in the early twentith century with the aim to support physical, mental, and spritual development in young people. Scouting has since become today's leading youth movement acriss the world. In 1917 Lord Baden-Powell wrote: "The roots of Scouting have grown among young people of all civilised countries and are developing more each day. It might be thought that if in years to come, a considerable proportion of the future citizens of each nation forms part of this brotherhood, they will be joined by a bond of personal friendship and mutual understanding such as has never existed before, which will help to find a solution to terrible international conflicts."

Scouting puts emphasis on outdoor activities including camping, hiking, sports etc. The scouting movement is believed to have around 38 million members in 215 countries. United States leads the list with around 9.5 million members. Indonesia is second on the list with around 8.1 million scouts. India follows at third place with around 3.7 million members.
